It is a beautiful day here in East London, Upton Park, as West Ham United host visitors Swansea City in a mid – table battle , .Andy Carroll is back for West ham after a long term injury and is in the starting line-up . This is an important game for both sides and they are both looking for them mighty 3 points.
The first ten minutes have been played and West Ham were first to take advantage of Swansea’s poor defending , they took a promising corner but it was cleared to safety by goalkeeper Tremmel.
At the other end , Swansea are awarded a free kick from around 25 yards but it is put well wide and out for a West Ham goal kick .West ham get a great chance , after Diame had a terrific shot from just outside the 18 yard box but was once again saved by a diving effort from Tremmel . Swansea are creating a few chances but none seeming to trouble the West Ham defenders . West Ham come close , again , to going 1-0 up , Joey O’Brien dances around the Swansea defenders he sends it towards the 6 yard box and Kevin Nolan misses a golden opportunity for West Ham.
Swansea have a corner but it leads to nothing and West Ham have possession, Vaz Te has a shot from outside the box but Tremmel keeps Swansea in the game and the referee blows for Half Time .
The second half gets off to an exciting start as Andy Carroll makes an impact , just putting his shot over the crossbar , Swansea are also passing the ball around well , they force it into the 6 yard box but the flag goes up for offside.
West Ham are back on the break , big shouts for handball but the referee disagrees and play carries on , West Ham continue to put pressure on Swansea and after 2 shots from Diame and Carroll, West Ham fans will be devastated that their team are not in front. Swansea are finding it hard to get the ball forward to their strikers .
GOAL – 76 minutes PRESSURE , PRESSURE , PRESSURE and it has paid off for West Ham , after an in swinging corner whipped in from Mark Noble , Andy Carroll leaps up and heads it passed the goalkeeper and their supporters jump for joy. Swansea are not giving up though , they are getting countless crosses into the box but the West Ham defenders keep denying them from equalising , the crowd are going wild as 4 minutes have been added on , but the referee blows the final whistle and West Ham take home the 3 points and move up in the table to 11th . Swansea remain 8th but will have to hope they win their next game against bottom of the table QPR .
